After years of obesity, Alicia Snell found herself at the age of 42 weighing 328 pounds, unhealthy, unhappy and chronically fatigued. In 1998 she permanently adopted a healthier lifestyle by changing her eating habits, running and adhering to a regular workout schedule. As a result, Alicia's life was completely transformed. She lost 173 pounds in 15 months and went from a size 28 to a size 8. Alicia has participated in 18 marathons including the prestigious Boston Marathon (April 2002 and 2004), and 50KM ultra marathons.

Alicia appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show in April 2003, and has also been interviewed by CBC Radio, CFRB Radio, Canada AM, City TV and CHTV. She has published articles in the Globe and Mail (April 2001) and Reader's Digest (June 2003), and has had articles written about her in the Toronto Sun, Running Room Runner’s Times, Forever Young, In Oakville and the Oakville Beaver.
